I grew up in the remote rugged South West point of Cornwall, the beautiful West Penwith-in a small coastal village called Porthcurno,
I remember when I was a small boy my mother letting me experiment in the kitchen creating a multitude of dishes, which inspired me to hitch up to London at the age of 16 and get my first job as a commis waiter is a 5-star hotel. It was being in the kitchen watching, learning and being shown by the chefs the tricks of their trade. It was from there that my love for the professional kitchen emerged.
I have since worked in pubs and hotels in Europe and London and finally my journey has taken me to the achingly beautiful thatched pub in the village of Kingsdon in Somerset. The Kingsdon Inn.
So we invite you to come and share in our living story and stay over in one of our lovely rooms or enjoy a garden lunch or relaxing evening with us here at The Kingsdon Inn.
May the road rise to meet you…..
